Our neighborhoods are living the headlines.

Losing a home to foreclosure is a tragedy for any family. The current foreclosure crisis also hurts our neighborhoods and communities in ways that aren’t so straightforward: a loss of tax base to support schools and other public services, abandoned homes that are a magnet for criminals and unkempt properties that bring down the value for current homeowners. 

Rebuilding Together is working with those homeowners who have been left behind in the mortgage crisis:
• The elderly homeowner, afraid in her home after dark
because her windows don’t lock properly, and her
neighborhood no longer feels safe
• The single mom with two children, paying her mortgage
but doesn’t have enough money left at the end of the
month to fix the broken hot water heater

Rebuilding Together helps provide that relief by being part of the solution to the housing crisis. Our neighborhood projects can help energize a community to help itself, maintaining home values, restoring pride and hope to neighborhoods that need it most.
