Join AmeriCorps with Rebuilding Together!
Rebuilding Together is currently recruiting individuals to join their AmeriCorps program, CapacityCorps, in several states across the country!
We are looking for potential members to join the CapacityCorps team starting in July, August and October 2020 to assist neighbors in need of critical home repair in some great cities like Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Miami and Seattle.
Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps is a National Direct AmeriCorps program with AmeriCorps members serving 11 months at Rebuilding Together affiliates around the country. Members help improve the lives of their neighbors in need through hands-on home repairs and community outreach while earning an education award to help with educational expenses.
I speak from experience when I say AmeriCorps, specifically Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps, is an amazing program. I was a CapacityCorps member with Rebuilding Together Baltimore from 2014 to 2015 and could not be more thankful for the experience.
Not only did I get the opportunity to give back to my community, but also I had the opportunity to move to a new city, meet amazing neighbors, gain professional experience, acquire new home repair skills, serve with like-minded individuals and make lasting friendships with other AmeriCorps members who shared similar values.
This was all while earning an education award to pay back my student loans and realizing I wanted to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. Joining CapacityCorps changed my life and now I get to share my experience with others in hopes that they join our program or at least help me spread the word! Below, you can hear from Agape Adams, one of our CapacityCorps alums, about why she joined and what she got out of the program.
AmeriCorps can certainly be a challenge, but I found it to be worth it. We look for hardworking and open-minded individuals who want to make a change in the world. We have members of all different ages and backgrounds looking for a new experience, whether they are right out of high school, college or retirement. I joined the program looking for a gap year to figure out my next move. Others aspire to be lawyers, professors, marketing specialists or financial advisors.
The one common goal all our members share is wanting to help others while meeting critical needs in the community.
As a part of Rebuilding Together, our members have the opportunity to serve their neighbors in need and their communities in a variety of roles both in the field and in the office. I invite you to reach out to me via email with any questions you may have. Please also visit our website to see what positions we are looking to fill and read our FAQ for more information.
