Neighbors Helping Neighbors: The Power of National Rebuilding Month
April has arrived and with it comes one of the most impactful months of the year for [Re]Builders everywhere—National Rebuilding Month! Every April, Rebuilding Together affiliates unite with volunteers and partners to repair homes, revitalize communities and rebuild lives for neighbors across the country. This mission, which began in 1973 in Midland, TX, is built on a simple yet powerful idea: neighbors helping neighbors. Decades later, that mission remains as strong as ever.
One of the highlights of National Rebuilding Month is National Rebuilding Day, which takes place on the last Saturday of April. This year, on April 26, 2025, volunteers from all walks of life will roll up their sleeves and work side by side to make an impact in their communities. Whether it's installing grab bars for older adults, repairing roofs or revitalizing community gardens, these life-changing repairs reinforce our ongoing commitment and belief that everyone deserves a secure, safe and stable place to live.
