Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay Awarded TIME Magazine’s 2024 Dreamer of the Year

Each year, TIME Magazine collaborates with American Family Insurance to honor the Dreamer of the Year—described as “a person or group working tirelessly to protect or restore dreams.” For 2024, TIME celebrated the “fearless first responders of disaster recovery,” shining a spotlight on those who stepped up in the face of adversity. In recognition of our hurricane recovery efforts, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is deeply honored to be named one of the three recipients of this year’s Dreamer of the Year award.
Throughout 2024, the United States has faced an unprecedented wave of natural disasters. From devastating hurricanes in the Southeast to relentless wildfires in the Pacific Northwest, climate-related crises have continued to escalate. In the face of these challenges, countless individuals and organizations have risen to the occasion, working tirelessly to help communities rebuild and recover in the wake of these catastrophic events.

Following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, our affiliate quickly mobilized to assist neighbors in rebuilding. We began repairing numerous homes severely impacted by the storms and distributed hurricane relief kits to support community members in need. Building on this critical work, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay has expanded its efforts to reach even more communities across Florida. 

We are honored to be recognized by TIME Magazine as a 2024 Dreamer of the Year. This acknowledgment inspires us to dream even bigger as we continue to grow and expand our services.
