James is a proud Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years. He served as a combat medic assigned to a Marine division his first 15 years, and then as an electronic disseminator for the last 13 years. He and his wife, Maira, have lived in their Hyde Park home for 10 years. James and Maira have recently experienced financial hardship. When a pipe burst and damaged their home, James and Maira couldn’t afford to pay for the repairs. With support from USAA, Rebuilding Together Boston replaced the sheetrock in the kitchen and first floor bathroom. They were also able to make repairs to the upstairs bathroom, including replacing the vanity and fixing the tile.
