For 30 years, Rebuilding Together has been making a difference during the Super Bowl
New Orleans knows how to host grand events, so it’s no surprise the Super Bowl is returning to the Crescent City for the eleventh time. The vibrant city is buzzing with activities, including events that give back to the community.
One of those events is Kickoff to Rebuild, with Rebuilding Together teaming up with Lowe’s, the NFL’s official home improvement partner, to provide essential home repairs in a local neighborhood. Over the past three decades, Rebuilding Together has made improvements to more than 180 homes, engaged more than 5,300 volunteers and invested more than $6.3 million in Super Bowl cities nationwide through Kickoff to Rebuild.
This year, Rebuilding Together New Orleans is hosting Kickoff to Rebuild on February 7. The local Rebuilding Together affiliate, with the help of Lowe’s volunteers, contractors and other community members, is repairing five homes, making improvements to a park and planting a community garden in the St. Roch neighborhood. Your donation can make a difference today.
St. Roch is an historic neighborhood teeming with culture, featuring iconic New Orleans-style architecture, like Creole cottages and shotgun homes. St. Roch Park, at the heart of the community, is a favorite gathering spot for neighbors. While St. Roch has faced challenges like housing instability, the community strives to preserve what makes the neighborhood special as revitalization activities occur.
Repairs like the ones taking place in St. Roch as part of Kickoff to Rebuild help neighbors stay in their homes, stabilize families and ensure communities remain thriving, welcoming places.
While our attention, like that of football fans everywhere, turns to New Orleans this week, Rebuilding Together’s efforts extend far beyond Kickoff to Rebuild. We will continue to provide essential repairs at no cost to our neighbors in need, not only in New Orleans, but across the country. Our network of local affiliates repair and restore homes year-round, because a safe, accessible home is more than a shelter—it’s the foundation for stability, education and health.
Additional sponsors making Kickoff to Rebuild in New Orleans possible include GAF, ADT, Chevron, Enterprise Mobility and Entergy, along with community partners ToolBank New Orleans and New Orleans Recreation Development Commission.
Together, we strengthen not only the homes we live in but the very fabric of our communities. Your support makes it happen. With your donation, we can get to work and build communities where we care for each other.
