Now more than ever, we must come together to make our communities stronger

At Rebuilding Together, we believe in a country where people and communities thrive, where everyone has a safe place to call home, where neighbors help each other out and support one another during difficult times.

I cannot put into words the anger and sadness I feel, that so many of us feel. The murder of George Floyd and the Black lives lost as a result of racism cannot be replaced. We can’t bring back George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor or any of those who were killed before them, but we can rebuild our communities together. We stand with you now. We will rebuild with you.

The work of Rebuilding Together has been and always will be to bring neighbors together to strengthen our communities. As the national staff of Rebuilding Together, we must closely examine how we are working to break barriers and be better neighbors not only within our organization, but also in the communities we serve.

We still have a lot of work to do to make our communities stronger. We must listen and continue to work together, to demand better of ourselves. Only then will we be able to see true change in our communities.
