Wells Fargo Supporting Hurricane Ian Recovery on The TODAY Show

Rebuilding Together was featured on The Today Show this morning! Al Roker joined us in Fort Myers, Florida to show the important work that Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is doing following Hurricane Ian. 

Making landfall on September 28 as a strong Category 4 hurricane in Southwest Florida, Hurricane Ian caused devastation in its path. With wind gusts of up to 140 mph, and rainfall up to 31 inches, the storm caused severe flooding and roofing damage to homes in an area already facing an affordable housing shortage. So many neighborhoods were impacted by flooding and wind damage.

While many non-profit and government organizations are mobilizing now, few are likely to be there long-term to meet the repair needs of Floridians on fixed incomes. Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay and our Florida affiliates are establishing a presence in the communities impacted and will be there for the long haul to help make Southwest Florida home again for those impacted by the storm.

This morning on The Today Show, Rebuilding Together volunteers were hard at work beginning the rebuilding process for neighbors who have lost so much. Our long-time partner, Wells Fargo, joined us in Fort Myers for a special surprise–a $500,000 donation to go directly towards Hurricane Ian recovery efforts. We are so thankful for the support Wells Fargo has provided over the years, and especially now in the wake of disaster.
