Travis Kelce’s foundation partners with Rebuilding Together Kansas City
Rebuilding Together Kansas City recently partnered with Kansas City Chief’s Travis Kelce and his foundation, Eighty-Seven & Running, to help a former decorated athlete stay in her home.
Much like Travis Kelce, Kansas City neighbor Gloria White has a love for sports and grew up breaking records on her school’s track team eventually competing in the U.S. Olympic trials. She’s spent 56 years living in her Eastern Kansas City home raising her children and hosting neighborhood kids in the backyard fostering a sense of joy for sports.
Together, Eighty-Seven & Running and Rebuilding Together Kansas City made transformational repairs to Gloria’s home including a new roof, gutters, safety latches, handrails for the stairs, bathroom and kitchen updates and more.
As Gloria manages her arthritis and joint pain, she can now move around her home with greater ease because of the repairs and modifications made to her home.
“Gloria desires to stay in her neighborhood, and the neighborhood is better because she’s here,” Rebuilding Together Kansas City Executive Director Scott Hickox said. “For Travis and his foundation to care about what’s happening in our city, it meant the world”.
