SUPPORT THIS WORK
Kickoff to Rebuild is an annual Super Bowl-sanctioned event hosted by Rebuilding Together, a leading national nonprofit with a mission to repair the homes of people in need and revitalize communities. This year’s event, taking place on Friday, February 7, 2025, will be led by Rebuilding Together New Orleans, and will bring together volunteers, partners and community members to make a lasting impact in St. Roch.
With a proud cultural history, St. Roch got its current name during a yellow fever epidemic in 1867 when the parish priest prayed to Saint Roch, the patron saint of good health, to protect the community. After Hurricane Katrina devastated the area in 2005, St. Roch experienced a period of decline. In the years since, the city of New Orleans has undertaken numerous efforts to restore the area. Today, St. Roch stands as a vibrant, culturally rich community where friendly neighbors and long-time residents foster a strong sense of connection and mutual support.
