Rebuilding Together and Lowe’s Teamed Up to Repair Homes and Revitalize Community Park as Part of 2025 Super Bowl Weekend in New Orleans

30th Annual Kickoff to Rebuild event was hosted by Rebuilding Together New Orleans with participation from Leonard Fournette in St. Roch neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 7, 2025Rebuilding Together, a leading national nonprofit dedicated to rebuilding communities in need, partnered with Lowe’s, the NFL’s official home improvement partner, to provide essential home repairs and community improvement in the St. Roch neighborhood of New Orleans as part of the annual Super Bowl-sanctioned Kickoff to Rebuild.

Celebrating the event’s 30th year, Kickoff to Rebuild spotlights the strength of the Super Bowl host city and the lasting impact of community revitalization and helping neighbors safely remain in their homes.

“Kickoff to Rebuild kickstarts Rebuilding Together’s work for the year,” said Maureen Carlson, president and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “We work year-round across the country to address the needs of our neighbors, providing them with essential home repairs so they can count on the roof over their heads and live in vibrant, resilient communities.”

Hundreds of volunteers came together on Friday, Feb. 7, to celebrate New Orleans’ spirit of resilience and hospitality by providing repairs and energy-efficient upgrades for five homeowners in historic St. Roch and community improvements throughout the neighborhood. Professional football player and New Orleans native Leonard Fournette, members of the Krewe des Fleurs, a second line band, and others helped kick off the event.

“Our Lowe’s store is adjacent to the St. Roch neighborhood. The work we completed today helped the friends, neighbors, and customers we assist every day,” said Kyle Lowery, Lowe’s regional vice president. “We are proud to partner with Rebuilding Together and celebrate 30 years of kicking off Super Bowl weekend by lending a helping hand.”

In addition to repairing homes, volunteers also focused on revitalizing community spaces at the heart of the neighborhood. Improvements included landscaping, a refreshed park and ballfield, a repainted fieldhouse, as well as the creation of a new community garden facing the park.

The event was hosted by the local affiliate Rebuilding Together New Orleans. Since 1988, Rebuilding Together New Orleans has addressed critical repair needs in the community, helping to ensure homes remain safe, healthy, and livable.

“Rebuilding Together New Orleans has been working tirelessly for decades to preserve the character and history of our community while ensuring safe, healthy homes for residents,” said William Stoudt, executive director of Rebuilding Together New Orleans. “We are deeply grateful to Lowe’s and our other sponsors, volunteers, and local partners who made Kickoff to Rebuild a reality and helped us celebrate the enduring spirit of New Orleans during this exciting time.”
